The City of Pueblo is located in and operates as the county seat of Pueblo County, Colorado. The local economy is boostered by steel-producing, aviation and electronics companies. The other main employer in the city was the State Hospital, currently known as the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo. The hospital has been in service continually since 1879.
